History of CRPF in detail: CRPF Recruitment
The CRPF was arises from the CRP which means Crown Representative’s Police. The force was formed on 27 July 1939 with two battalions in Nimach and Madhya Pradesh. The meaning of Nimach north Indian mounted artillery and cavalry headquarters. The main duty of the force at that time was to guard the British residents in the profound area of India. After that, the CRP was retitled under the CRPF Act in 1949. In the year of 1960s, several state reserve police battalions were blended with the CRPF.
The force has been dynamic against foreign attacks and domestic uprisings. SI Karam Singh and 20 other soldiers were attacked by the Chinese force in Ladakh causing 10 casualties. At this point, the border security force was made for that purpose. in 2001, the CRPF trooper killed all five terrorists who had entered the buildings of the Indian Parliament in New Delhi. In September 2009, over 5000 CRPF soldiers were installed for a search and save operation to find the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh named Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy whose helicopter disappeared over the forest range in Andhra Pradesh. Evidently, it was one of the largest search operations ever done in India.
